About

I’m just a mother of a child with cancer. Katie-Anne is four and has Stage IV Neuroblastoma High Risk non amplified. That’s a mouthful huh? She was diagnosed on September 1, 2015, the day my insurance became active with my new job (whew). She has had two resection surgeries and because of one, is missing her ribs 1-5 on the right side from sternum to mid back. She is a beast. I know everyone says this of their warriors, but I’m pretty sure Wolverine is secretly her father because she heals so quickly. Though, I don’t remember an illicit love affair with Logan, but…who knows. She has gone through frontline treatment which is chemo, mIBG therapy, Antibody ch14.18, and resection. She is now considered refractory (stubborn cancer!) so now we start the next chapter of treatment.

My goal with this blog is to show the day-to-day life of a family with cancer. The good, the bad, the ugly, and the joyful. If you have questions, just do the contact thing and send me your questions and I will do my best to answer them quickly, unless you ask about String Theory, and then I’m going to need a few days on that one. I’m committed to being as honest as I can, but please remember, this is through my eyes. Some days I will hate everyone and be unfair and salty, but most days I won’t. So please take everything with a grain of salt. Life is just that way when cancer happens.
